The Passing of a Legend - Network TwentyOne founder Jim Dornan

Release date: August 6, 2013

After a long and heroic battle with cancer, Network TwentyOne founder Jim Dornan passed away on August 6, 2013. As always, by his side, was Network TwentyOne's cofounder and Jim's wife, Nancy Dornan. Jim was also encircled and supported during his passing by the love of his family and the faith that sustained him. Of vital importance to Jim were his three children and their families, Heather and her daughter Ashley-Kate Dornan; Eric and Abbie Dornan; and Dave, Jules, and their daughters Faith and Ella Dornan.

Jim Dornan leaves this world having made an undeniable impact on it. With the launch of Network TwentyOne Jim created arguably the finest leadership development organization of its kind in the world. Hundreds of thousands of people in nearly 50 countries of the world attest to the influence that Jim and Network TwentyOne have had and will continue to have on their lives. Additionally Jim and Nancy launched Network of Caring, a charity devoted to meeting the most basic needs of people. Through Network of Caring's worldwide impact thousands of people, mostly children annually receive free wheelchairs, food, clothing, shelter, education, and medicine. Because of Jim's charitable heart Network TwentyOne has been called the largest corporate sponsor of both World Vision and the Free Wheelchair Mission.

Jim was the author of several books and numerous CDs and DVDs all of which have been translated in numerous languages. And while thousands of people have filled stadiums around the globe to hear him speak, Jim was just as comfortable and may have made his biggest impact with individual leaders in coffee shops or living rooms. Known for his wisdom, kindness, honesty and integrity, Jim became a father figure to thousands of people. His close friend Dr. John Maxwell said, "Jim Dornan is simply one of the greatest leaders I have ever known." Rich DeVos, co-founder of Amway said, "A legend has passed."

There is no replacing a leader or person like Jim Dornan. But Jim took great pains to build his organizations on solid foundations and with capable leaders. And Jim would be the first to say that Network TwentyOne exists to help people pursue their dreams. He would want all those who knew him to keep chasing their dreams and he would want Network TwentyOne to stand with them to see them come true.
